1.1.1 NEW FEATURES (Reason for Change)
- Release introduces support for SeeWave for both 4G and 5G.
- The release also includes fixes for defect numbers 9075 and 9101.
KNOWN PROBLEMS AND LIMITATIONS IN THIS RELEASE
- #6354: CINR has a maximum dynamic range up to 30db for LTE eTopN scan
- #6357: 80ms and 160ms SSB period is not working for NR TopN
- #6492: Low detection on rare occasions for some channels while running NR Mobile Blind Scan
- #6531: Gflex scanner shows CINR fluctuation on LTE measurement in the 850 MHz range
- #6903: GSM Blind Scan detects slightly fewer BSIC compared to IBflex
- #6940: Gflex scanner might show missing or change in the last byte of the Cell IDs during the one-time SIB1 detection
- #7060: NR Blind Scan reports wrong PCI values on very rare occasions.
- #8188: Incorrect LTE bandwidth reported in UHS one-time all-SIB LTE-Blind mode occasionally. Measurements are correct, but the bandwidth is occasionally reported incorrectly.

2.2.1 NEW FEATURES (Reason for Change)
- Release introduces support for VITA 49.2 I/Q Capture and I/Q Streaming, without the need for additional API development.
- Separate UDP ports are now used for command and control:
- The IQserver on Gflex uses port 13000 for incoming command packets.
- Upon receiving a command acknowledgment, the server sends acknowledgement packets to port 12999 and sends data/context packets to port 13000.
- On the PC side, two ports are opened: port 12999 for receiving command acknowledgments & port 13000 for receiving data/context packets.
- Extended Inquiry Update
- New inquiry field added: "gpsClockServiceVersion" which represents the version of the IQserver.
- VITA 49.2 operates in Exclusive Mode, meaning it cannot be used concurrently with other measurements over USB or Bluetooth connections.
- Supports I/Q streaming bandwidths up to 100 MHz with 10 GigE Port Streaming Option. Required options:
- 0x00BB 0000: 10 GigE port streaming
- 0x00CC 0000: 10 GigE interface
- 0x00BA 0000: 1 GigE port capture
- 0x000C 0000: Ethernet interface
- 0x8880 0000: Superband 10-8000 MHz

- 0x00BA 0000: 1 GigE port capture
- 0x000C 0000: Ethernet interface
- 0x8880 0000: Superband 10-8000 MHz
- Note: For further details, please contact product management.
- Release includes support for NTN LTE Measurement for Non-Terrestrial Satellite Network.
- Support for measuring LTE in non-terrestrial satellite networks.
- Limited Doppler compensation in this measurement; assuming satellites manage Doppler shifts.
- Scanner provides compensation for frequency doppler shifts up to 7.5 KHz.
- Measurement is available in eTopN mode only.
- Measurement is enabled by setting “SignalMode” to “Compensated NTN LTE”.
- For eTopN mode, RX can be set to 1 or 2; for RX=2, connect two antennas (left-hand circular polarization antenna to RF1 and vertical polarization antenna to RF2).
- When the “number of RX = 2,” the scanner collects data from both RF ports and reports the maximum RSRP from each port.
- Scanner also reports the frequency offset for each Cell ID.
- MIMO parameters are not reported for RX=2 mode.
- NTN mode requires a new option.
- Release includes improvement for FR2 (mmWave) SIB1 detection and decoding.

2.3.1 NEW FEATURES (Reason for Change)
- Release includes support for the two new modes that enable faster scan speeds in eTopN and Blind Scan for LTE.
- Ultra-High Speed (UHS)
- DSS Ultra-High Speed (UHS)
- Existing Signal Modes, including Standard, High Speed Train, and DSS, remain supported.
- Both new modes are compatible with the Layer 3 measurements.
- UHS and UHS DSS apply only to wideband RF path measurement data modes and do not support subband, RF path + subband, and MIMO 2x2 measurements; any unsupported measurements will be rejected by the scanner.
- UHS mode offers better performance compared to DSS UHS mode, and it is recommended that users utilize UHS DSS only when DSS is active on the network. If users are unsure whether the network is DSS, they can select DSS UHS; however, the scan speed will be slower than UHS but still faster than regular DSS mode.
- UHS may occasionally lose some weak channels during Blind Scan, and it is recommended only when increased scan speed is necessary.
- LTE one-time MIB/SIB1 functionality will detect MIB only once and report PBCH parameters. After the initial decode of MIB, KPI parameters for PBCH will be filled with '0.' The scanner will indicate these parameters as 'not present,' leaving them blank in the API.
- To obtain PBCH measurements, users must run the LTE scan in continuous mode.
- Release includes support for the new layer 3 mode for LTE and NR Blind Scan.
- New Reporting Mode 3 has been introduced, allowing one-time MIB and any SIB per PCI. This mode enables faster scan speeds in all layer 3 modes and allows users to select any SIB along with the MIB for one-time detection.
- LTE Blind Scan supports Reporting Modes 0 (continuous), 1 (one-time MIB, SIB1), and 2 (one-time MIB, SIB1, SIB2) in release 5.1, with support for Mode 3 (one-time MIB & any SIB) added in release 6.0.
- NR Blind Scan supports Reporting Modes 0 (continuous) and 1 (one-time MIB, SIB1) in release 5.1, also adding support for Mode 3 (one-time MIB & any SIB) in release 6.0.
- Reporting Mode 3 is designed to be a superset of Reporting Modes 1 and 2, and it is intended to be the main mode of operation, with other modes gradually becoming obsolete in the future.
- New Reporting Mode 3 has been introduced, allowing one-time MIB and any SIB per PCI. This mode enables faster scan speeds in all layer 3 modes and allows users to select any SIB along with the MIB for one-time detection.
- Note: LTE one-time MIB/SIB1 functionality detects MIB once, reporting PBCH parameters as 'not present' (blank in the API) with KPI values set to '0,' and requires users to run the LTE scan in continuous mode for PBCH measurements.
- Release includes support for the below new layer 3 modes for NB-IoT.
- New Reporting Mode 3 has been introduced, allowing one-time MIB/SIB1 decoding. The scanner currently supports SIB1, but this flag will be extended to other SIBs in the future.
- NB-IoT Blind Scan supports Reporting Mode 0 in release 5.1, with added support for Reporting Mode 3 in release 6.0.
- Combo mode for LTE and NB-IoT combined blind scan behavior is as follows:
- In release 5.1, it supports Reporting Modes 0 (continuous), 1 (one-time MIB, SIB1), and 2 (one-time MIB, SIB1, SIB2).
- In release 6.0, it will support Reporting Modes 0 (continuous), 1 (one-time MIB, SIB1), 2 (one-time MIB, SIB1, SIB2) and 3 (one-time MIB & any SIB)
- In both releases, when Reporting Modes 1 or 2 are used, NB-IoT will remain in continuous Mode.
Note: This combo mode of operation will gradually become obsolete, and it is recommended that users avoid using the combo mode and run measurements separately instead.
- Release includes improvements for NR Blind Scan Speed.
- Added support for reporting the center frequency of the LTE network, in addition to the channel number.
- Release supports reporting of the following 5G parameters for TopN and Blind Scan:
- Network Operation Mode: 5G Standalone or 5G Non-Standalone.
- Fcarrier (carrier frequency) in MHz. This value is reported for 5G Standalone networks only; it will not be reported for 5G Non-Standalone networks.
- Carrier BW: Reported in MHz only for 5G Standalone networks.
- Carrier frequency and Carrier BW will be reported when SIB1 is enabled and detected.
- Gflex release includes a beta release for C-V2X (LTE) measurement:
- Introduces C-V2X (LTE) measurement for decoding PSCCH (Physical Sidelink Control Channel) and PSSCH (Physical Sidelink Shared Channe) channels.
- This release only supports PSCCH and includes measurements for KPI parameters such as RSSI, PSCCH RSRP, and PSCCH CINR on the PSCCH side-link channel, as well as the ability to decode the PSCCH payload.
- Supports an auto-detect capability to locate and decode the PSCCH signal without needing Resource Pool information.
- This is just a beta release and is only recommended for demonstration or lab testing purposes. Please contact Product Management for more information.
- Option for recording data to the SD card will be REMOVED from the scanner, upon upgrade to this release.
- Added support for the following bands:
- LTE TDD 1.8 GHz Proprietary (1785-1805 MHz)

2.6.1 NEW FEATURES (Reason for Change)
- No new features.
- Release includes addressing a defect related to the missing GPS information on rare occasions.
- Release includes improvements for LTE and NR time offset. The new improvements will take effect after upgrading the Gflex scanner to firmware 4.0.1.0 and using one of the below methods:
- Scanner shall be used in outdoor drive test with GPS connected in clear LOS (line of site) for at least one hour
- Scanner shall be connected in idle mode to the GPS in clear LOS for at least one hour
- Time offset does not have any impact on the LTE/NR signal detection in the previous and current firmware. It will be used for BTS location estimation and other applications in future.
KNOWN PROBLEMS AND LIMITATIONS IN THIS RELEASE
- #6354: CINR has a maximum dynamic range up to 30db for LTE eTopN scan
- #6357: 80ms and 160ms SSB period is not working for NR TopN
- #6373: Gflex Bluetooth. On pairing the first time with the unit it disconnects. This will be seen only once momentarily and it will connect automatically, or the user can try to reconnect again. The problem is not seen with new connections.
- #6985: Gflex scanner might not connect on some occasions with S7/S8 tablet using USB cable. The workaround is to disconnect and connect the cable again. Scanner does not work with tablets older than S7 using USB connection.
- #7060: NR Blind Scan reports wrong PCI values on very rare occasions.
- #7137: LTE Blind Scan will be slow while running Combo(NB-IoT + LTE) mode with delay in detection for some LTE channels.
- Note: SD card logging is not supported with this release and scanner might crash if SD card logging is enabled.
PROBLEMS RESOLVED IN THIS RELEASE
- #6370: Gflex scanner time offset may show a small constant drift when GPS is connected
- #7254: Gflex scanner might not provide GPS information on rare occasions

2.15.1 NEW FEATURES (Reason for Change)
This is the initial release for Gflex.
NOTES
- New Bands specific to Gflex:
- FR2, n262 TDD. 47.2 GHz to 48.2 GHz
- FR1, n96 LAA. 5.925 GHz to 7.125 GHz
- The following Interfaces are supported:
- USB C for Windows PC applications.
- Bluetooth 5.1 for Android applications.
- RF ports:
- “RF1” port is the default port for sub 8 GHz measurement.
- “RF2” port is an additional port for sub 8 GHz measurement. Performing measurement with this port in parallel to RF1 does not increase the scan speed.
- “RFmmW” port is the only port for millimeter wave measurement for a frequency range greater than 24 GHz.
- The scanner will appear as a MX scanner on PC communication port.
- GSM support will be available in a future release.
- Support for 5G/4G Spectrum Sharing is expected in early Q1 2022
- Support for 5G mobile blind scan is expected in early Q1 2022
KNOWN PROBLEMS AND LIMITATIONS IN THIS RELEASE
- #6344: SD card – Gflex Drive Test Date is incorrect when writing to SD card.
- #6350: USB device is not recognized when connecting and disconnecting the USB cable. The workaround is to recycle the scanner power.
- #6353: SD card – FR2 topN SD-card, Header is lost after the 7th beam.
- #6354: CINR has a maximum dynamic range up to 30db for LTE eTopn scan.
- #6357: nr-topN for 80 ms and 160 ms SSB period is not working.
- #6369: When GPS is lost and gained back there is a jump in nrTopn time offset.
- #6370: Gflex scanner Time offset may show a small constant drift when GPS is connected.
- #6373: Bluetooth - on pairing the first time with the unit it disconnects. This will be seen only once momentarily, and it will connect automatically, or the user can try to connect again. On upcoming connections, the problem goes away.
PROBLEMS RESOLVED IN THIS RELEASE
- N/A
THE FOLLOWING SCANS ARE SUPPORTED IN THIS VERSION
- RSSI
- Spectrum Analysis
- Enhanced Power Scan.
- The accepted values for Frequency Step Size and Resolution BW for mmWave measurement are: FFS & RBW >= 4 (10 KHz) and FFS & RBW = K x 2, even numbers (steps of 5 KHz).
- Only FFS = RBW values are supported.
- nrTOPN measurement.
- The nrTOPN supports SSB period from 5ms to 160 ms. Please refer to PRD for more details.
- The dual RF FR2 measurement is obsolete in Gflex. All the 5G measurements are single port.
- eTopn Measurement. FDLTE/TDLTE.
- WCDMA Topn measurement
