4G/5G Network Detection and Performance Monitoring
SeeHawk Monitor makes it easier to monitor spectrum for 4G/5G networks.
The system uses event notifications to help users detect changes in service quality and identify issues such as interference, disappearing channels, new channels, or unexpected cell IDs.
How Network Monitoring Works
The SeeHawk Monitor system is composed of one or more Remote Test Units, also known as RTUs, managed remotely through Platform Manager software.
1. Configure
The RTU scans user-selected spectrum for 4G/5G networks.
During configuration, the RTU provides a list of active cell IDs and channels with baseline measurements of key performance indicators, also known as KPIs.
Common KPIs include:
- RSSI
- RSRP
- SINR
The user configures monitoring events in SeeHawk Monitor Platform Manager.
2. Monitor
The RTU continuously scans spectrum and sends data through the cloud to Platform Manager.
Platform Manager compares new data to established baselines and event thresholds.
This allows the system to detect changes in network behavior over time.
3. Notify
Platform Manager notifies users of events by email.
Events may include:
- KPIs significantly higher than baseline
- KPIs significantly lower than baseline
- Disappearing channels
- Presence of a new channel
- Presence of a new cell ID
- Possible service-impacting changes in the monitored spectrum
4. Investigate
Real-time monitoring helps users investigate ongoing issues.
SeeHawk Monitor provides continuously updated measurements and health ratings compared to the baseline, helping users determine whether further analysis or corrective action is needed.
