Note: This is the initial release of the ILE features. The accuracy of the estimate is still being characterized. The accuracy is affected by the power level of the signal received at the RTUs, how direct or indirect the signal is traveling (i.e. amount of multipath and fading) and the frequency width of the interference signal
- Requires minimum of 3 RTUs with Spectrum Monitoring features and a GPS antenna.
- Requires scanner firmware and options update.
- Requires RTUs to have GPS input and actively locked to the GPS signal.
- When enabled, Interference Location Estimation is run when 3 or more RTUs running the Spectrum Monitor scans detect events that are similar (criteria is user configurable). A maximum of 3 RTUs are used for interference location estimation. If more than three RTUs observe the same event, the first three are chosen for interference estimation. This uses hyperbolic intersection algorithm.
- The minimum RSSI Threshold for interference estimation at an RTU node is -105dBm with 12.5kHz BW.
- It is recommended to use Post Trigger Time = 1 sec for optimized capturing of interference location.
- Creates a file for Google Earth that displays the RTUs, multiple estimated locations and a best estimated location when the algorithm finds similar signals
Note: The SeeHawk Monitor Platform Manager software includes all supported features, with all tabs visible within the application interface. However, the availability of technologies and scan types is determined by the connected RTU. If the required options are not enabled or installed on the RTU, the corresponding scans will not be available for execution.

KNOWN PROBLEMS & NEW PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED IN THIS RELEASE
RTUs are designed to be powered optionally by PCTEL’s Flex Dual Battery Pack. RTUs shipped prior to June 2025 will not accommodate the battery pack. If the Flex Dual Battery Pack is used to power the unit, a long continuous beep will be heard, and the unit will not complete the power-up sequence.
Units shipped or serviced after June 2025 will work correctly. Units shipped prior will have serial numbers starting with these digits: 422xxxxx, 423xxxxx, 424xxxxx, and 42501xxx.
Units returned to PCTEL for any reason will be updated. Units can be returned to PCTEL at no cost for an update by completing the RMA form at Product Returns (RMA) | Support | PCTEL.
Units that have been updated can be identified as they will be silent during power-up, whether powered by AC or the Flex Dual Battery Pack. The beeping will not be heard.
PROBLEMS RESOLVED IN THIS RELEASE
Defect 8813 Spectrum Monitor Wide Noise Signal Detection may generate events even when a frequency is set to be ignored.
Defect 8815 Platform Manager failed to validate IP address to prevent invalid configuration.
Defect 8922 RTU report time stamp with an offset when GPS time was used in events generation. This may cause failure to import the data into SeeHawk Touch.
Defect 8596 SeeHawk Monitor may fail the scheduled scanner option update when running Spectrum Monitoring
